Welcome to Killarney Art Holidays

Step-by-step oil painting courses for beginner / intermediate run monthly throughout the year from various indoor and outdoor locations in Killarney. Our first course for 2012 will be held on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th February at the Crafty Alley Killarney, and  we will focus on bluebell woodland landscapes.

For the summer, once again we are running PLEIN AIR PAINTING classes, and starting July 2012 we will be at Muckross Traditional Farm, Muckross House, Killarney.

In other words, OUTDOOR PAINTING in the grounds of Muckross Traditional Farm, beside Killarney National Park, with glorious lake and mountain views. We have a sheltered option should the weather turn.

‘Plein Air’ or ‘Outdoor’ painting is different to a studio setting, there’s a wonderful sense of being part of what you’re painting, which is really something in a location as beautiful and tranquil as Ross Castle. Classes take the usual format with small groups and step-by-step instruction with Tina Reed. A full set of notes accompanies the course, describing the techniques used during the course with reminders and tips on colour mixing, composition and brush/ palette-knife methods.

The first Muckross Plein Air course is  July 28th and 29th for the opening of the Killarney Summerfest 2012.

All welcome, beginner/ intermediate level. All weekend courses: €115 for the 2 days. (Muckross course €125 incl entry to the Farms)

Classes are suitable for beginner and intermediate painters.

All that is needed is an interest in painting, a truly absorbing pastime at any level. Our aim is to help you make the most of your painting abilities and develop your own approach to palette-knife, brushwork, composition and colour.

Small Groups

Painting classes are very small groups (4 to 5 people) which allows for a high level of personal attention where ideas and inspiration can be shared with like-minded people. We aim to give you all the tutoring that you need in a friendly environment where students help each other and enjoy themselves.

Killarney

Killarney has plenty to offer a non-painting partner or family member whatever their age or interests from sightseeing to shopping, numerous restaurants, a golfers haven with three 18-hole, and three 9-hole golf courses in Killarney alone. This vibrant town with its incredibly beautiful surrounding countryside makes Killarney a very special place indeed.
